SALON BLEU AT TYSONS GALLERIA RAISES $8,000 FOR BREAST CANCER
The Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will receive 100% of the proceeds from Sunday’s “CUTS FOR THE CURE” event
October 7, 2009 (Mclean, Virginia) On Sunday, October 4, from 11:00am-5:00pm, Salon Bleu at Tysons Galleria hosted “Cuts for the Cure” – a “pink” themed fundraiser with one hundred percent of the service proceeds going to the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The highlight of the event was a visit from Lenore Koors, Development Director of Komen Maryland, who later commented that she “was nearly brought to tears by the sense of community she felt in the presence of the Salon Bleu employees and their clients.”
In addition to having a hair-cut or blow-dry, guests indulged in delicacies from the newest menus at Entyse Restaurant and Maggiano’s Little Italy (also in Tysons Galleria). A DJ from Bose stirred a dancing crowd with his festive tunes while clients who preferred a more relaxing vibe were treated to complimentary chair massages offered by the professionals at Equinox. Giorgio Armani Makeup Artist Manuel Flores added the finishing touches with a make-up application.
Every guest received an exclusive “Cuts for the Cure” gift bag from Salon Bleu which included product donations from partnering retailers and information about Komen Maryland. Guests were able to purchase raffle tickets for up to ten baskets as another opportunity to support the cause. All winners have been contacted. The staff at Salon Bleu would like to make the event an annual occurrence.
